During the 2011 World Cup final between India and Sri Lanka, then captainDhoni :It took a six to allow the Men in Blue to lift their second ODI World Cup.

 Cricket fans across the country cherish it as a memento.  However, Gambhir was quick to tell that the tournament was won by the efforts of the entire team and dedicated support staff.

 India started off poorly after Sachin Tendulkar's defeat And Virender Sehwag With just 31 runs on the board.But Gambhir and M.S.Dhoni Won a match-winning 109-run partnership and stepped up.  Gambhir returned after playing an innings of 97 runs, but in the end Dhoni andPrinc Singh defeated the team by six wickets.

 India won their first World Cup in 1983 and then had to wait 28 years to win the title.
